A game of Warhammer the Old World

Having now played my first game of old world I have two first impressions.

  1. The game is significantly simplified compared to previous WHFB systems
  2. The game is really rather fun

To elaborate, most of the old rules are there, but more intricate details like the steam tank rules have been significantly reduced. This is most apparent in the magic rules that have been reduced to simply rolling two d6 for every spell and adding some modifiers rather than the IMO far more interesting systems from 6th edition and 8th edition (i have not played 7th on principle).

I do have to note that I did forefit this battle following a colapse of my right flank, though my steam tank boiled sevral bretonian knights alive after my genral was killed by the enemy duke.
